NIGERIA: STANDING THROUGH THE TIMES

Like diamonds in the sky

We remain blessed with resources to fly

Our history, never a mystery to nurture our future

United we stand, divided we fall

To secure our culture with no rapture

We capture our heritage with no end

Our history, your story, my story felt with obsession

A fusion we melt without ration

Never digress, 60 years of independence is progress

Struggles for freedom in the past by our forefathers

Like a tigress, transgress’ to secure the future of our children

Freedom from colonial masters was celebrated with luxury

But since then, our leaders have had Nigerians imprisoned in penury

The diversity of our ethnicity

Like the tenacity of a study at the university

Never a parity to consider with levity

The pride of our tribes

Our arsenal to being united

As the giant of Africa

We stay defiant for the Continent

Bustle to be remembered as the largest economy

Although the hustle of its people forgotten with small pockets

The cake might not be your take

But we must wakeup for the icing to make

And shakeup Nigeria for posterity sake.

God Bless Nigeria
