DRIED BY THE RAIN

My eyes on the clock,

For the early closure luck

5pm made a mock

The bade chase from work

The evening shone brighter

Lost to the day's early work closure

As the crowd blur darker

Lateness my home openings found

The lone bus I saw ahead

The dark clouds birthed crowd fear

A curse my purse felt

With cab, a luxury not to worry

But a penury for the next lorry

Staying through the queue for bus

Like a roasted barbeque for sauce

Not dried by heat but wetted by the rain

Like an engine with no fan

The queue stood tall

The middle made a wall

Muscle not defined by height

My home earliness, lost in reality

Without umbrellas drenched we stayed

Like a football team, benched we played

With the rain, wretched our shiver rayed

Away from the rush, the next bus chased

Ugly, the rush home never seemed funny

My early closure excitement

A late home recitement

Beautiful, this piece made the journey home merry

THE NIGHT SLEEPS AWAY

Up through the morning, away from the night

My eyes wide open, closed to sleep

The future I nurture

But laziness, the puncture from keeping it mature’

Up through the morning, away from the night

The night sleeps away, my choice to stay awake

Silence through the night, the voice of my ideas

Boost’ by noise lost in the sleep of others

Up through the morning, away from the night

My eyes as wide open as an eagle’s eye

Descending through my mind to attack my thoughts

My mind always it stays, never plagiarised

Up though the morning, away from the night

Nocturnal they call it but normal we receive it

Misunderstood the preceding lines?

Read again not to miss understanding the proceeding

Up through the morning, away from the night

Questions asked in the day, answers made at night

The pieces through my mind all day

My jigsaw puzzle to picture the future

The Nightmare Reality (A state of mind ‘pun’)

Life, found in birth

Birth, the unveil of a life

Life, sustained by breath

Breath, the key to staying alive

Alive, doors opened to opportunities

Opportunities, chances to succeed unlocked

Unlocked, lost hopes kept alive

Alive, dreams found in no sleep

Sleep, nightmares relinquished by hard-work

Hard-work, result sustained by Grace

Grace, the strength to pace through the race,

Race, yours for you with no competition but you

You, the tool to life fulfilment ahead of death

Death, the unknown fear from goals

Goals, an accomplishment defined by us

Us, a collective mind with individual meaning

Meaning, a nightmare reality through thoughts

Thoughts, Lost on My Mind

My mind, found in my sleep

My sleep, a temporary escape from reality

Reality, rejuvenated by nightmares turned fantasies
