My eyes on the clock,
For the early closure luck
5pm made a mock
The bade chase from work
The evening shone brighter
Lost to the day's early work closure
As the crowd blur darker
Lateness my home openings found
The lone bus I saw ahead
The dark clouds birthed crowd fear
A curse my purse felt
With cab, a luxury not to worry
But a penury for the next lorry
Staying through the queue for bus
Like a roasted barbeque for sauce
Not dried by heat but wetted by the rain
Like an engine with no fan
The queue stood tall
The middle made a wall
Muscle not defined by height
My home earliness, lost in reality
Without umbrellas drenched we stayed
Like a football team, benched we played
With the rain, wretched our shiver rayed
Away from the rush, the next bus chased
Ugly, the rush home never seemed funny
My early closure excitement
A late home recitement
Beautiful, this piece made the journey home merry

Nice write up. I was just flowing with the rhymes ☺️
