All
the Egos I know are beautiful
A go
for men to chase them
But
men with Ego’ are ugly
Not
a go to win the pace after Women
Not
all women named Ego are identifiable
But
all men with Ego’ are
By
their looks you wouldn’t know
But
their words and attitude spell Ego’
Telling
you that they have Ego’
Ego,
an irony, a name and an attribute
To
love, to hate, to treasure, to chastise
To
name your female child but set a red line
For
her, in her relationship with him that has Ego’
For
his Ego’ is no match for your Ego
And
a red light to End Giving Over Ego
To
him that has Ego’.
Written and composed by Taiwo, Kehinde Oluwaseyi
Poem brief:
As observed in the poem, there
are 2 characters, Ego and Ego’. The first in use, Ego, refers
to a feminine name from the ibo tribe, the Eastern part of Nigeria which has
its full form as Nwakaego. Nwakaego means “a child is better than money”.
While the other, Ego’,
refers to the egocentric man or an egoist, known for only thinking
about himself and not about what other people need and want, precisely the feminine gender in this vein.
