Maya Angelou, a poetic heroine of the black race
Celebrated all over the world with a loud ovation
Ear drums vibrates to her heartfelt words
From her words, lost hope is found
Inspiration is rejuvenated and defeat dealt a heavy
blow
Beyond her death we are spurred to ‘exhume’ the hero
in us
Life is short, her words outlives her life
Beyond her generation
To my generation
And generations unborn
Maya, an Angel uniting the world
With her words, disunity unleashes unity
War, made peace
Good life, a better life
And life, given a meaning
Maya Angelou, rest in peace
Always!
